Niamh is a city elf from the Denerim alienage and Aedan Cousland's former lover. She is a distant relative of the Tabris family.

Background[]

"I did love her. But... we eventually learned her parents betrothed her to another elf in a different alienage. We shared our last night together and by daybreak, she was gone. I never saw her again."
Aedan Cousland, about Niamh

Niamh originally hailed from the lands of Highever, where her father was a servant to Teyrn Bryce Cousland. As a child, Niamh met and was befriended by Aedan Cousland, the teyrn's second son, more or less growing up together. The two were inseparable, often playing with the other children. Many people had disapproved of a teyrn's son spending as much time as possible with a servant girl, but neither Aedan nor Niamh cared.

Upon turning sixteen, Niamh blossomed into a beautiful young woman with a willowy figure, long white golden hair, and mesmerizing green eyes. During this time, she and Aedan began a secret romance. On the night of Aedan's birthday, Niamh snuck into his room and professed her love for him. Aedan took her virginity that night, telling her he loved her before they fell asleep in each other's arms. Niamh stayed with him until sunrise, and both would come to remember the night fondly.

However, she was eventually relocated to Denerim when her parents betrothed her to another elf — much to her and Aedan's despair. In the following fortnight, Niamh visited Aedan and kissed him one last time before they slept together again. When he awoke the next morning, she was already gone, likely already on the road to Denerim.

Her fate afterwards is unknown.
